THE PAW CATALOG
Origin: France
She comes from the French region of Bos, where she grazed cattle and protected herds from wolves. She is considered involved in the origin of the Doberman. Beaucerons carried messages and supplies and searched for mines in both world wars, and one dog worked in search and rescue after the events of 9/11.
Beauceron is a large, muscular French shepherd dog with double appendages on the hind legs. Calm, confident and vigilant, faithfully protects the family. Requires an experienced owner, space and daily loads.

Suitable for people with experience and a spacious yard, not a city apartment. Beauceron is a quiet but watchful guard, so early socialization and clear rules are needed. For the first dog, the breed is difficult.
A healthy adult dog needs at least an hour or two of physical and mental exercise every day. The breed feels best in a large area. The load of puppies and elderly dogs is adjusted with the veterinarian.
Intelligent and loyal, but independent. Training should be consistent, based on positive reinforcement, with early socialization to people and dogs. Without work and tasks, he can get bored and persistent.
The double coat is combed several times a week, and in the two seasons of strong shedding, daily. Claws are trimmed regularly, including the double claws on the hind legs. Teeth are brushed every one or two days.
Family-oriented, usually patient, but size and strength require adult supervision. The rules of calm play are explained to the child.
Early socialization and control when meeting unfamiliar dogs and small animals is necessary. The contact is evaluated individually.
Estimates help compare breeds. For zooaggression, 5/5 means less tendency to aggression towards dogs. The behavior and health of a particular dog depend on many factors.

The British cohort does not provide a comparative survival estimate for the Beauceron breed. The absence of the mentioned risks does not prove the absence of hereditary diseases, and parents should be checked in any case.
Low rating: the thick coat is combed several times a week, and during the shedding period every day.
Hip dysplasia is mentioned as a possible risk. The results of the hip assessment of the parents should be asked from the breeder, and the need for examinations is determined by the veterinarian.
Bloating or twisting of the stomach is an emergency condition to which large, deep-chested breeds are prone. Know the signs: unsuccessful attempts to vomit, distended stomach, restlessness, pain; then go to the vet immediately.
Allergic skin diseases are mentioned as a possible risk. Symptoms: itching, redness, licking paws. Diagnosis and treatment are prescribed by a veterinarian.
Heart disease is mentioned as a possible risk. A preventive examination includes listening to the heart, and the need for examinations is determined by a veterinarian.
