THE PAW CATALOG
Origin: North Macedonia
An autochthonous breed of North Macedonia, associated with pastoral settlements and nomadic crossings of shepherds. For centuries, she protected herds. Images of such dogs can be found in folk songs and medieval art, the most famous being the fresco of 1191 in the church of St. George in Kurbynovo na Prespa, which is included in the club's logo. The breed must withstand very low and very high temperatures.
The Macedonian shepherd dog is a large (62-68 cm, 37-45 kg) autochthonous guardian of sheep from the northern Balkans, black or black-tan in color, with long dense fur. Calm, restrained with strangers, decisive and brave on guard duty. Needs space, experienced owner and early socialization.

Only suitable for experienced owners with a large plot. A working guard, not a decorative dog. The apartment is not the place for him.
Daily walks and a large area to patrol. They provide shade and water in the summer.
Balanced, independent and intelligent. Early socialization, calm consistency and clearly defined boundaries are required. The breed does not want aggression.
Thick wool is combed weekly, more often during shedding. Ears are examined, nails are trimmed, teeth are cleaned.
Loyal and gentle to his own. The size and protective instinct require constant supervision, especially in the presence of other people's children.
He protects his flock and domestic animals. He perceives strange dogs and animals on the territory with caution, therefore acquaintances are gradual.
