History of the Odis breed
Origin: Ukraine, Odesa
Odis began to be formed in Odesa at the end of the 1970s with the participation of Odesa cynologists, in particular Tamara Shargorodska. A fox terrier, a silver miniature poodle and a Maltese bolonka were used in planned breeding. The target was a small domestic companion dog. After many years of selection, the breed was named ODIS. It is considered the first national Ukrainian breed. The Kenological Union of Ukraine recognizes it at the national level, and there is currently no FCI recognition.
Odis is a small, cheerful companion dog with thick, long fur, bangs, whiskers and a beard. The name stands for "Odesa domestic ideal dog". Friendly, cheerful, devoted to his family, wary of strangers. Loves movement and communication; wool needs daily care.

Life is nearby
Odisha needs communication, daily walks and a quiet place to rest. It is a companion, not a decorative accessory: learning and familiarity with new situations remain important. He feels good in the apartment.
Walks
Walks are combined with short games and olfactory tasks. The load is selected according to the age and condition of a particular dog.
Training
He learns quickly and cooperates willingly. Short consecutive classes with a reward. They gradually get used to combing, inspecting paws, ears and eyes.
Care
The long thick coat is regularly checked for stains and dirt, and the bangs are trimmed so that the dog can see clearly. The haircut, which changes the shape of the breed, does not meet the KSU standard. Eyes and teeth are examined weekly.
Children
Acquaintance with children should be calm and under the supervision of adults. The dog needs an opportunity to go away and rest.
Other animals
Acquaintance with other animals is carried out gradually, observing the behavior of a particular dog.
