THE PAW CATALOG
Origin: Middle East; FCI patronage
Ancient Greyhound: Salukis are depicted in Egyptian temple art, and Middle Eastern tribes kept them for about 2,000 years. Hunts "by eye", not by smell. The Bedouins gave these dogs away, not selling them. In the FCI classification, it belongs to group 10.
The Saluki is an ancient hound-hound of medium size (58-71 cm in males) with a smooth or feathery coat. Dignified, gentle, reserved towards strangers. Quiet and calm at home, but needs to run fast in a safe, fenced area.

A large, well-fenced yard and a warm, enclosed space are required. Without movement is boring and can destroy things.
Running and movement are needed every day, the house is quiet and calm.
Intelligent and sensitive, so gentle positive methods are required. Young dogs need socialization. It cannot be forced by force, and in the field it is unreliable.
Smooth wool is simply wiped with a damp cloth, feathery is combed regularly. Ears are examined, claws are trimmed.
Gentle, but children are left nearby only under supervision.
Strong hunting instinct: cats and small animals are dangerous. If introduced from a young age, they usually get along with other pets. Loves company, so two dogs are often easier than one.
