Life is nearby

Suitable for calm owners who can give a daily run in a safe place. He is calm at home, likes to lie on soft furniture.

Walks

Daily activity is required: walks, running nearby, playing with other dogs, free running in a securely fenced area, catching bait. An agile dog needs a strong fence.

Training

Responds poorly to rough parenting, consistent positive methods work best. Vigilant, but rarely barks.

Care

Care is minimal: once a week a brush with soft bristles or a glove, occasional bathing.

Children

It is described as a gentle and family dog. Children treat him carefully.

Other animals

Likes to play with other dogs. As a hunter "by eye" he can rush after a small animal, so caution is a must.

Progressive retinal atrophy

Progressive retinal atrophy is a hereditary disease that gradually leads to vision loss. Genetic tests and ophthalmological examinations of the parents allow you to assess the risk before buying.
